|Man United||RB Leipzig||Man United — win 42%||2.5|
|Sevilla||Rennes||Sevilla — win 63%||2.5|
|Ferencvarosz||Dynamo Kyiv||Dynamo Kyiv — win 42%||2.5|
|Juventus||Barcelona||Barcelona — win 40%||2.5|
I would go against the odds here and pick Sevilla as my premium option for the Wednesday slate. Borussia Dortmund is far from being consistent at the start of the season. Mostly, you need to pay attention to the Spanish defensive line. The full-backs play an immense role in the attacking process, especially the experienced Jesus Navas.
I can’t but mention Yassine Bounou, the Moroccan goalkeeper of Sevilla. He brilliantly used his chance after Vaclik’s injury and now is undoubtedly the first choice of Julen Lopetegui. As for offensive picks, Lucas Ocampos stands out being the leader and the most efficient player of the team in the previous season and at the start of this year as well.
Lazio suffered a massive blow because of the COVID-19 the day before the game. Only 16 players flew to Belgium, a lot of starting players including Immobile, Luis Alberto, Lucas Leiva remained in Italy. In this situation, I suppose FC Brugge should be considered as a favourite in this game. We can take advantage of FanTeam player prices in the absence of a few star players, so I believe the ownership of rather cheap Belgians will be very high in this tournament.
First of all, consider Hans Vanaken, the captain and the penalty taker. Both Dennis and Diatta also look as a valuable investment because both of them are out of position strikers who are listed as midfielders. Dennis is playing upfront while Krepin Diatta is a right-winger. However, the stats of the latter are much more impressive, he has already scored 5 goals, while the goal against Zenit was only the first for Dennis this year.
Ferencvarosz, to my mind, is slightly underestimated by the bookmakers, being underdogs even in the home game against Dynamo Kyiv. Both teams lost their games to the big clubs in the first round but left a pleasant impression in terms of game quality. Pretty certain that both teams will have a lot of moments to find the back of the net as defense is not the strongest area of these East European teams.
That’s why I advise you to pick Isael, who scored three goals in his last 4 games. Moreover, he was rested in the weekend game against Ujpest spending only 26 minutes on the pitch. In case you pick Isael, it looks sensible to add Tokmac Nguen to the attacking stack. The Norwegian is the main striker of the team, he scored three goals in the UCL qualification rounds against Celtic and Djurgardens.
Erling Haland (14.2)
While fading Dortmund stack, I can't go past the young Norwegian beast. But despite the fact that I believe it will be a very difficult game for the Germans, it is hard to ignore one of the best European strikers who has a relatively good matchup. Haland scored 0.64xG+0.27xA per game with 5 goals and 2 assists in Bundesliga this season. Do not forget that he has already scored in the current Champions League campaign against Lazio.
Jesus Navas (9.2)
Sevilla has the second-best chances to win on Wednesday evening. The bulk of their attacks goes through the flanks. Sevilla's cleansheet probability is the highest among the teams in the late slate. All these points hint at making Jesus Navas your captain. Just one piece of statistics for you to prove it - Sevilla's captain is currently the best player in La Liga in xA - 1.95 in 5 games.
Don't forget to look at the starting squads as all of them will be accessible one hour before the deadline. May the VAR be with your fantasy team!
