Champions League: Round 2 Preview

Champions league is back! We are taking a closer look at the odds and single-out fantasy football must-picks on FanTeam.

One of the favorites of the tournament is facing a tough outing in Istanbul tonight. For the Turkish club — which hasn’t played in CL for several years — a home game against PSG will be an extraordinary event and a good chance for the club and fans to remind about themselves on the European stage. PSG are the second biggest favorite of the slate but it’s always tough for any team to travel to Turkey.

It is much safer to back up high-flying Man City who are facing Dinamo Zagreb. Zagreb made a statement in the first game against Atalanta but should come down to earth at Etihad. According to odds Man City are the main favorite of the slate. Rested Sergio Aguero is a must-have for today. As usual, it’s better to stack the City attack — any of David Silva, Mahrez or Sterling can be a decent choice considering their form. Kevin De Bruyne is doubtful for today's game.

To find a place for all your premium picks you need to save a bit of money fielding value-priced players. We suggest you consider Atletico Madrid defenders Savic and Lodi, both are reasonably priced and are a goal threat. We expect a closed game with a few goals in Moscow with both teams playing to get the result.

Other value picks come from a game very hard to call – Red Star against Olympiacos. The price tags look appealing for Olympiakos players who will come looking for some point gain in Belgrade.

With Danilo and De Sciglio expected to miss the game against Leverkusen, Juventus is not that solid at the back. We expect Leverkusen to have good chances to score and Havertz with Volland to be involved since Havertz is a designated penalty taker in the squad and Volland plays at center-forward.

As we mentioned above, Olympiacos has value picks to offer. The player who stands out among them is Guerrero, priced at only 6.3, and expected to be in the starting lineup.

As we've already mentioned, the stack of Man City attacking players is highly recommended. So captaining Aguero would be an obvious choice.

Juventus is playing against Leverkusen, that has a poor defense (they conceded four goals against Dortmund and two goals against Lokomotiv). Thus, Juventus frontman Cristiano Ronaldo is a good captaincy-option too.
