NHL Spotlight Stacks: Thursday 21.03

The Florida Panthers' top line comprised of Aleksander Barkov (14.0), Jonathan Huberdeau (13.9) and Evgenii Dadonov (13.1) make for an elite line stack tonight against the Arizona Coyotes. Barkov shares the first place in points in the NHL since March 1st with Connor McDavid, having accumulated 18 points (5 goals and 13 assists) in 10 games. His partner Huberdeau is 7th with 14 points (5 goals and 9 assists), while Dadonov has 10 points (3 goals and 7 assists) in these 10 games. This line is well correlated too, as all three share powerplay time together. Given the Panthers' best PP% in the NHL over the last month (33.3%), and the Coyotes' ugly 45.6 CF%* over the same time frame, look for the Panthers' top line to have another big game tonight.

The Dallas Stars' head coach Jim Montgomery has finally decided to reunite Jamie Benn (12.3), Tyler Seguin (13.2) and Alexander Radulov (13.0) in the previous game, and that paid off well, with the trio earning 10 points combined. Being one of the best lines in the NHL, Benn, Seguin, and Radulov have an elite 35.4 SF/60**, 33 SCF/60*** and 14.8 HDCF/60**** this season. The matchup against the Colorado Avalanche isn't the toughest one, as the Avalanche have been struggling from the HDCA/60 standpoint over the last month, sitting in the bottom-10 in the NHL (11.8). Additionally, the Stars get a boost since the Avalanche's goaltender - Grubauer - is one of the worst goalies in the NHL (90.7 SV% this season). You can use Seguin - Radulov - Klingberg stack if Benn is dropped from the top line again. Klingberg is a nice play anyway, as the Avalanche have a subpar 78.4 PK% over the last month.

While the Calgary Flames' main weapons are priced extremely high on FanTeam, you can make a case for their second line which also has a multipoint upside. The 3M line consisting of Matthew Tkachuk (14.5), Mikael Baklund (10.6) and Michael Frolik (8.8) has been on fire lately, combining for 11 goals and 14 assists in just 5 games. Tonight they draw a juicy matchup against the Ottawa Senators, a team that has been a defensive disaster all season long and nothing has changed lately. The Senators are dead last in terms of SCA/60 (32.4) and HDCA/60 (14.4) over the last month, and also they will be playing their second road game in two nights. The Vancouver Canucks tortured the Senators last night by scoring 7 goals, and tonight we can certainly expect the same amount of goals from the offensively loaded Calgary Flames.

Shea Weber (11.1)

Fresh off a 16 FanTeam point game against the Philadelphia Flyers, the Montreal Canadiens' captain is surely underpriced tonight. Weber has 12 goals and 17 assists in 49 games this season, averaging 2.77 shots on goal, which is pretty solid. The matchup against the New York Islanders is a great one, with the Islanders being the second-worst team in terms of SCA/60 and the fifth-worst team in terms of HDCA/60 over the last month. Take a chance on Weber.
