Overview

FanTeam is Europe’s largest Daily Fantasy platform with football, basketball, CS:GO, MMA, hockey, baseball, DOTA 2, and many other sports and esports on offer. Services provided by the website can be divided into three major categories:

– Daily and season-long fantasy sports;

– Sportsbook;

– Fantasy matchups.

In this review, we will talk in more detail about each of these, dive into the rules of these contests and provide you with an overview of the platform in general. But before we begin, let's briefly talk about it's origins and license.

History & Origins

The website launched in 2013 under the name Woofbet (World of Online Fantasy Bet) and offered football contests exclusively. Rebranded before the start of the 2015 season, the website is now a part of the Scout Gaming network (sharing the player pool with some other fantasy sports websites).

The operator had gone a long way to become the European leaders when it comes to daily fantasy sports, staying afloat while many competitors like Fanaments, Mondogoal, Olala had long ago gone under. A variety of available sports and contest types, sportsbook, fantasy matchups, slick UI make them the ultimate place to play fantasy sports in Europe.

License

Scout&Co is fully licensed and regulated by UK Gambling Commission through a white label agreement with Scout LTD. The website also has the license issued on August 1, 2018 by The Malta Gaming Authority. Both the UK and Maltese licenses are considered one of the most secure within the industry, so you shouldn't worry about keeping your funds on the website.

Fantasy Sports

In fantasy sports, users compete for real money drafting lineups of players performing in real-life sporting events. You may read our extensive introduction into fantasy sports by clicking the link below. There are two types of fantasy contests available: season-long contests and daily competitions. Let us take a closer look at each.

Season-Long Fantasy

In season-long fantasy games,  you are asked to draft a team of players that will earn you fantasy points competing in real-life sporting events across the season. Seasons may vary in length depending on the sport.

This year, the website organized a record-breaking €1,000,000 guaranteed season-long English Premier League competition. It constitutes all 38 game weeks and lasts from September till May, giving fantasy managers a chance to transfer players in and out as the season unfolds. The champion, come May, will pocket a life-changing 200,000 with around 5,000 paid places in total.

Champions League, Euros, and World Cups are also quite fitting for holding season-long contests which FanTeam had organized in the past with substantial guarantees.

Some season-long events are shorter and are played in the so-called “Freeze” format when fantasy managers are not allowed to make any alterations to their initial team. Tennis competitions such as Wimbledon or US Open or major esports events like CS:GO ESL One usually last no more than a month.

Daily Fantasy Sports

In daily fantasy sports, you are given a salary budget that you spend to compose a team of players competing in real-life sporting events conducted on a single day or a couple of days within one tournament. Saturday NBA games, for example, or the full week of the English Premier League that usually spans across 3-4 days from Friday to Monday. Think of a free hit team, when you draft a new team every time you play if you come from the FPL background.

Players you have selected will earn fantasy points based on their actual performance in these real-life events. The team with the highest point total wins, with around top-20% of entrants finishing in the money zone eligible for a portion of prize pool money. The higher up the standings your team finishes, the more money you win.

FanTeam Sportsbook

FanTeam Sports Betting page
The operator also offers sportsbook service with a variety of leagues on offer and plenty of available betting lines. Live betting is not available at the moment of writing.

Betting on fantasy points was introduced in 2020, and offers an exciting new way to punt on your favorite athletes. A certain point-threshold and odds are provided for players based on how good they or their team are. You may then bet on whether the player will earn over\under a specified number of fantasy points according to the scoring charts which differ from sport to sport (more on that later).

Fantasy Duels is another way to bet on fantasy points. A selection of duels across different sports is available in the lobby with odds given on who will earn more points in the next match/fight/event played. You may stick with duels from one competition (Jimenez vs Mount in the EPL, for example) or bet on winners in multiple duels across multiple sports.

Please take into account that the bet is canceled if any player involved in a duel doesn’t start the match.

Fantasy Matchups

FanTeam fantasy match-ups lobby
Fantasy Matchups is an exciting novel feature that was introduced on the website in 2020. You are offered certain fantasy matchups, or duels,  every week from a variety of sports available on the platform. You must then select one of the two duel participants who you think will perform better in the real world sporting event. Players dueling score fantasy points based on FanTeam scoring charts. The player with the highest number of points in the duel wins. There are no odds, just pick the best player out of two dueling, as simple as that.

Players would score fantasy points for goals, assists, clean sheets etc., if we are talking about team sports. Touchdowns and yards gained will score points in American football, takedowns and knockouts in MMA contests, kills and assist in esports etc.

You must select a winner in at least three duels with an option to pick as many as ten duels, if you are feeling lucky. The more duels you pick, the more money you can potentially win.

You may combine duels from multiple sports within one Fantasy Matchup. Add some MMA and NFL duels to your dueling footballers to make it more exciting. The more duels you win, the higher the payout, with 10 duels won within one Fantasy Matchup returning 500 times your bet. Mind you, if one of your duels is lost, you lose your full bet regardless of the outcome of all others.

If the player featured in the duel does not start, the duel is declared void. This will lead to a decreased payout as your betslip will now contain one less duel reducing the payout multiplier.

To avoid draws, one of the players in any duel is given a +0.25 fantasy points handicap.

Sports & Scoring

Most fantasy action is centered around football (soccer), with the English Premier League and Champions League football daily and season-long tournaments boasting the largest prize pools. The €1Million EPL season game is still ongoing with a €300K Major event scheduled for Boxing Day. 50K and 100K Weekly Monsters with a modest 20 Euro buy-in give fantasy managers a chance to pocket nice sums, with as much as 10K for first. There are plenty of leagues available for play, ranging from EPL and LaLiga to Chinese Super League and MLS. Champions League football and Nations League competition offer a chance to step away from national tournaments at times if you feel for a change.

Multiple other sports are available as well, with solid guarantees, different formats and scoring. Below you can see a list of all available sports in the lobby at the time of writing. The platform is ever-expanding with cricket and DOTA2 the latest addition to the pool of available games.

Available Leagues

All stats provided are collected by Sportyman — the company's own data provider. Scoring charts differ from sport to sport and are outlined in the Support section of the site and are accessible from inside the tournament lobby for any given sport. To give you an example, here is the scoring chart for the most popular fantasy sport on the platform — football.

Bonuses & Promotions

Promotions are a frequent occasion here and range from free ticket giveaways to deposit, and reload bonuses. Tickets for different fantasy competitions are often given away on Twitter and other social media. Freerolls from the platform itself or the website partners (Fulham FC being the latest addition) are found in the lobby. Among them, exclusive freerolls for new users and various season-long game participants.

Important. There are lots of outdated information available online about FanTeam's 200% welcome bonus. Unfortunately, this welcome offer has been canceled. However, we've partnered up with the website to offer every new player who signs-up with our link a free entry to a €2 tournament. We highly recommend using this opportunity.

Deposits & Withdrawals

It is rather easy to deposit on FanTeam with many payment methods available. Visa and Mastercard (not available in some countries), Skrill, Neteller, EcoPayz, PaySafe, Trustly. Deposits are usually instant but might depend on the deposit method. Deposit fees may vary depending on your location, make sure you look them up on the website’s Cashier page once you’ve registered an account or double-check with online support.

Mobile App

At the moment of writing, the mobile application is "in the works and will be available soon" according to the operator's officials. In the meantime, the mobile version of the website is well optimized, polished, and rather user friendly. It takes a few minutes to get used to a slightly altered interface compared to the desktop version but once you have done that, you can create your fantasy lineups easily. In fact, a few successful players prefer drafting their lineups on mobile rather than on a desktop computer.

Customer Support

Online customer support is available seven days a week in English. Support is available via the on screen chat in the site’s lobby.

Communicating via email is also possible in English and a few other supported languages (German, Russian, Swedish). The time of reply might vary, though, depending on the language and other circumstances.

Conclusion

FanTeam is an ideal place to start playing Daily Fantasy in Europe with new sports being constantly added to an already impressive list. With buy-ins as low as €1, freerolls, deposit and reload bonuses, social media giveaways, it is easy to begin your exploration of the wonderful world of daily fantasy. Unique features, such as Fantasy Matchups, guarantee everyone will find a game to their liking.
