Sorare Transfer Market: Beginner's Guide

The process of buying and selling cards is the essential part of your Sorare experience. In this guide, I will explain how the whole process works so you understand better how to make deals in the transfer market and turn a profit.

Buying Cards

There are two main ways to acquire players for your collection: primary market in the “new signings” tab and secondary cards in the “transfer market”.

“New signings” tab is for the freshly minted cards that are issued by Sorare. All these cards can be bought via an auction. Just place a bid on the card you are willing to buy. In case another manager outbids you, you will have some time to place one more bid.

Be aware that if someone bids during the last minute of the auction, this last minute will restart again and everybody will have 60 more seconds to place a higher bid.

The starting auction prices are:

  • 0,01 eth - Rare card
  • 0,1 eth - Super Rare card
  • 1 eth - Unique card

Minimum bid increment is set to 10% of the current price.

Power Hour

During this process, 60 auctions are taking place instead of 45 held in 60 minutes.

Power Hour that takes place on Sundays usually ends up with Player of the Month cards or Unique cards of Top players.

  • Mondays: 21:00 - 22:00 UTC
  • Tuesdays: 15:00 - 16:00 UTC
  • Wednesdays: 07:00 - 08:00 UTC
  • Thursdays: 21:00 - 22:00 UTC
  • Fridays: 15:00 - 16:00 UTC
  • Saturdays: 07:00 - 08:00 UTC
  • Sundays: 21:00 - 22:00 UTC

In the secondary market, it is possible to buy a card instantly from other managers that are willing to sell it

You can find all such cards in the Market —> Transfer Market. There are a lot of filters that will help you find the card you need for your collection or for building a perfect fantasy team.

In order to make a bid during an auction or to buy a card in the secondary market, you can use cryptocurrency Ethereum or your credit card.

While using a credit card, there is no commission when buying via an auction, but a 10% premium when buying directly from a manager in the transfer market.

Selling cards

You are able to sell your Rare, Super Rare and Unique cards.

Common cards are not eligible for sale

If you want to put your card up for sale, click on it, and under the image of the card you will find the “Sell my card” button. When clicking on it, you will be asked to set a price for the card.

Be careful: you do not set up an auction!

The price you set is the final price for the card that you will get if someone buys the card

The sale lasts for 48 hours. In case there is no buyer, the card stays in your gallery.

If the card is bought before the deadline for SO5 tournament, it is simultaneously taken out from any fantasy team that you had prepared.
If the card is sold after the deadline, it won’t have any effect on your SO5 registered team.

All the transactions in Sorare can take some time to process. So don’t panic if you don’t see Ethereum on your account straight after the notification about the player sold. Sometimes it may take a couple of hours for the transaction to be carried out.

Direct Offers

There are situations when you want to buy a card of a particular player but none of them are for sale in the secondary market.

In this case, you are able to make an offer to the card’s owner. You can do it on the Card page with the help of the “Make an offer” button.

If you want to swap cards or create a massive exchange using 2, 3 or more different cards, you need to use the Direct Offers tool.
In the desktop version, you can find it by clicking your username at the top of the screen.
